Cathaoirleach open to special meeting on flooding

The Cathaoirleach of Mayo County Council, Cllr Michael Holmes has said this week that he is open to the idea of the council having a special meeting to discuss the flooding problems in the county. However he said that a representative from a number of Government agencies would need to be present so questions could be answered.

Voices for change conference this weekend

This Voices for Change conference takes place in Breaffy House, Castlebar, this weekend, starting this evening, Friday, and will carry on tomorrow, Saturday. Council warned West Mayo budget should not be effected because of parking charges

The elected memebrs of the West Mayo Municipal District this week once again insisted that there would be no introduction of on street parking charges in the district and added that the district should not see its budget affected because of their decision not to introduce the charges to the town in the area.
